First let us understand what is Reserve list?
IBPS Reserve list basically is a waiting list which offers a chance to get allotted on the basis of the list.
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection conducts exams every year to recruit eligible candidates for various banks in the country. For different post different exams are conducted and each post has a common written exam (CWE) which is given online by the applicants. After clearing CWE candidates have to appear for interviews and candidates who clear both the CWE and interview rounds are shortlisted to apply in the banks by way of a Provisional Allotment List.
But sometimes candidates do not get listed in the provisional list so; there is an IBPS reserve list for those candidates who would be considered for the allotment in next round of allocations.

I am in the IBPS reserve list that means I will get the job??
If you are listed in reserve list that means you will be considered for the allotment. But there is NO Guarantee of a Job in the reserve list. You may have a ‘Chance’ of getting the post. So, you may or may not get an allotment.
If, I am in the IBPS reserve list, does that mean that I will be eligible for next year’s vacancy also?
The answer is NO. There is a time period for provisional allotment of candidates through IBPS Reserve list. Allotment could be done only during the specific time period. After the validity, candidates under the reserve list have to start fresh and they need to repeat the whole recruitment procedure again.
How many candidates are there in the IBPS reserve list?
The number of applicants in the reserve list is approximately 10 percent of the total vacancies available. Candidate should remember that chances of getting a job via reserve category depend purely on the extra vacancies that might be available after the entire recruitment process for the year end, and no one can predict that part.
If I am in the reserve list and get the job then how would I know I got the allotment?
The candidates who have been allotted reserved jobs based on the IBPS reserve list will be intimated by phone calls or emails. IBPS communicates with you through phone or email as soon as you will get the job.
