From now on there will be no interview round for IBPS Junior level posts in the government of India ministries, departments, attached and subordinate offices, autonomous bodies and PSUs. Instead there will another test to evaluate the candidate’s capability for the selection. Read on to this article to know further about the new test.
No More IBPS Clerk Interview – May be Substituted by Psychometric Test
So far the recruitment process for IBPS Clerk was supposed be something like this – start off with the Preliminary exam and for those who would qualify in this exam, would go for Mains. Finally the short-listed candidates are called for IBPS Clerk interviews which are personal common interview round, but from now there will be no Interview round for junior level posts and clerical posts.
All central government ministries and their Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have been asked to dispense with the requirement of interviews for selections at junior level posts from 2016, however, they may continue with skill or physical test.
The main exam for IBPS Clerk V was conducted on 3rd and 4th January. The paper comprised of five sections namely, Reasoning, English Language ,Numerical Ability Test, General Awareness Test and Computer Knowledge.
As the IBPS Clerk Interview is being discontinued, it is also expected that psychometric tests will take place of the interview.
The decision was taken in a recent meeting of committee of secretaries chaired by the cabinet secretary, in which PSB banks have been asked to discontinue interview in the recruitment process of clerical and junior level posts.

What are Psychometric Tests?
Psychometric tests assesses the candidate’s different abilities, personality and so on. There is no right and wrong answers in psychometric tests, they are just a way of understanding a person’s mindset. These tests have been largely employed in private sector banks for their recruitment activities.
However, the Finance Ministry has asked all the public sector banks to strengthen the written examination for the posts of clerical and sub-staff as there will be no interviews for such appointments.
