Recently, the government has handed the recruitment of all the RRBs to IBPS. IBPS exams are massively popular among the people who wish to get a job in a bank; the exams are conducted on specific dates in online mode. Steps to Fill in the IBPS Online Application Form:
In order fill the IBPS Online Application Form, you need to login to the official website of IBPS –www.ibps.in, once you are done with this, simply follow the steps mentioned below:
1. Click on Apply Online:
Click on the “Apply Online” link near the post that you wish to apply for and that will open the IBPS application, namely –
- Clerk
- PO/MT
- Specialist Officers
- RRB
Please remember that if you are trying to apply through a mobile phone, the link may not load; in order to load the link you must have JavaScript on your browser. So it is best advised to apply from a PC or a Laptop. In case you don’t have JavaScript enabled on your mobile phone therefore it will be better if you apply through a personal computer or laptop.
2. Read the Pop-Up
Once you are on the correct webpage, you will be able to see the schedule of the selected IBPS Exam on the left side and a yellow registration button on top right – “Click here for New Registration” will be there on the top-left corner. Clicking on that button will lead to a pop up which will have the points to be noted while filling the form, read this pop up carefully.
3. Fill in Details:
Closing the pop up will take you to the first page of the IBPS Application form. You need to quickly fill in the required details (which in this page will primarily comprise of your name and contact number) and recheck it as you cannot edit it afterwards. After this is done, a temporary registration number and password will be generated after you press the save and next button.
4. Provisional Registration Number and Password:
The candidates who have completed the previous step can complete the application process at any point of time till the last date with the help of this provisional registration number and password generated.
5. Proceed to step two:
The next step involves uploading the photograph and signatures. Those who have the correct photograph and signatures ready may upload them to the IBPS servers.
Photo Guide:
- Recent Colored Passport sized Photo on a light background
- Photograph size should be 4.5cm x 3.5cm or 200×230 pixels
- File size between 20kb to 50 kb
- Face and eyes should be clearly visible. If you wear glasses ensure there is no glare on them.
- No head-wear except for Religious headgear is allowed
Signature Guide:
- Signature in all CAPITAL is not allowed
- Should on a White paper with Black ink
- Signature image image size to be not more than 140×60 pixel
- File size not more than 20kb
- Signature should be such which matches the candidate’s own signature that he/she might have to sign on the answer script during exams. If the signatures on Admit Card and answer script at the time do not match, the candidate is disqualified from the exams.
6. Fill in Educational Qualifications etc:
Once you have submitted the photograph and signatures, the third page will require information such as educational qualification, experience, language proficiency and so on. Once you have entered all the details, click the “Recheck” button so that you will know if you have filled all the starred boxes or not.
7. Bank Preference Order:
Select the Banks and re-order them in the order of preference in which you want to work – Top will be the first choice followed by second, third and so on.

8. Completed Application Form:
After you have followed the above steps, you will finally be able to see the completed IBPS Application form; once you pass this page you may no longer be able to make any changes in it.
9. Check the Entire Form and every detail once again:
After the above is over, you will be taken to a screen, wherein the entire completed form will be displayed and you should check the details to ensure there are no mistakes in that and click Final Submit or click Back for any changes.
10. Pay the Examination Fees:
You will find the examination fees in this step and your registration process will be completed only after making the payment online through debit/credit cards, net banking etc.

11. Take a Printout:
NEVER EVER FORGET TO TAKE THE PRINTOUT. Once you have paid the fees, a Receipt will be generated for you. You will need to download the Receipt and in case you wish to pay in offline mode, you will need to take a printout of the challan slip.
